Favorite Class: History 9.01: The Americas From Invasion To IndependenceWith only 12 people, this course was the perfect seminar style course to introduce me to the history department at Dartmouth. We learned about pre-Columbus America up until the American Revolution, exploring a vast period of American history that is largely swept over in high school curriculums.

Favorite Class: Writing 5: The Supreme CourtAs someone who hopes to attend law school one day, this course was the perfect introduction to legal jargon, briefs, and the like. Professor Kalish helped me improve my writing my leaps and bounds as we explored judicial philosophies, current Supreme Court cases, and court history.
SpringSingapore
Favorite Class: English 34: Modern American DramaDespite my inability to sing or act, I've always been a big fan of theatre. Quite frankly, this course is one of the reasons I applied to Dartmouth in the first place. We read plays written from the early 1900s up to Hamilton, engaging with each deeply through class discussions and essay writing.
SummerSingapore
Favorite Class: DPCS InternshipThis summer I interned with a food bank in Philadelphia called Philabundance through the Dartmouth Partners in Community Service (DPCS) summer internship program. Each year, students apply to be matched as interns with non-profits in San Francisco, Philadelphia, or Boston. I completed the 10 week internship remotely from Asia, working a 9pm to 5am shift 5 days a week. It was an incredibly timely experience, as I worked primarily on Philabundance's COVID-19 relief efforts.
Hiking the Upper Valley
It's leaf peeping season! Here are my favorite hikes I've done in the Upper Valley this fall.
Term Wrap Up!
The first official term back in person has absolutely flown by. Here are a couple of highlights:
- No. 1
#1: Performing on Stage
This week, Sugarplum, my contemporary-jazz dance group, had the opportunity to perform together on stage for the first time in almost two years. We do our stage shows in the Hopkins Center for the Arts, which means that the HOP team helps us put on a professional-level show with stylized lighting cues.
- No. 2
#2: In Person Discussion Groups
I took Government 85.39: Public Opinion and American Foreign Policy this term, which was a two-hour long discussion group that met twice a week. It was one thing to take classes that are lecture based in person and it's a whole other thing to take in person discussion groups. I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to engage in high level discussion with thirteen of my peers without having the restrictions of Zoom.
- No. 3
#3 Studying in Sanborn
My little sister really got me into studying in Sanborn, the English Department library, which I believe is the coziest place on campus. It's smaller than the famous Tower Room but has the same charm.
Harvard, Halloween, and More!
One of the best parts of Dartmouth is the way that students are willing to cram in a ridiculous amount into any given term. This weekend has been no exception.
Combatting Homesickness as a....Junior?
Yes, I still feel homesick even in my third year at Dartmouth. Here are some ways that I deal with it!
Little Sister on Campus
It's been two weeks since my little sister moved into her freshman dorm room. I couldn't be happier.
Scenes from Sophomore Summer
It has been a beautiful summer in the Upper Valley thus far as we return to normalcy! Here are some scenes from Sophomore Summer.
Summer Performing Arts Groups at Dartmouth
Sophomore Summer is certainly the time to try new things at Dartmouth!
Diving Into Government at Dartmouth
This term, I took a big leap and signed up for not one, but two classes in the Government department.
