The tree outside my door becomes more and more red each day, I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks the other day, and on several occasions have stopped dead in my tracks to enjoy the beautiful New England foliage.
Late spring is one of the best times to be on campus: the snow is mostly melted and it is peak time for hiking. The accessibly of nature in the Upper Valley region is one of the things that makes Dartmouth unique.
With some other girls in my sorority, I planned to hike Gile Mountain and watch the sunrise from the top of the tower – neither of which I had done before.
Some of my friends and I decided to spend the day at the Quechee Gorge in Vermont, and it ended up being a great break from finals!
Springtime has arrived at Dartmouth and that means over the next ten weeks New Hampshire will get greener and greener. Spring term is an exciting time, especially because of the snow-free hiking opportunities.
Maybe because I literally have a tattoo of a mountain, or just because I like the outdoors, I find myself going on lots of hikes and really liking to explore the wilderness around campus.

When I first heard about the tradition of First Year Trips - where Dartmouth sends a bunch of freshmen out into the woods to do a variety of outdoor activities together before anyone has even met before - I was very intimidated.
