Favorite Class: HIST 2: #EverythingHasAHistory: Understanding America TodayThis history class is dedicated to investigating the history behind current events. In this term, we looked at the history behind immigration, Silicon Valley, and affirmative action. And in the final weeks of the term, we were able to choose what we wanted to learn about, and we chose to look at the history of impeachment. It is a very cool class with great class discussions. I would highly recommend!

Favorite Class: COSC 1: Introduction to Programming and ComputationCOSC 1 is an intro to Computer Science course. I had never taken a CS course, so learning the new Python language was definitely tough! Even so, I learned so much about how to code, and the help provided by TAs and the professors is invaluable in this course!
SpringOnline
This was the first class I ever took in the African and African American Studies and Religion Department. It opened my eyes to the various ways African Americans in the Jim Crow era survived when the world was stacked up against them. I would highly recommend!

Favorite Class: Creative Writing Prose: The Short StoryThis class was a creative writing class, and it gave me a lot of insight into what I as an author should want my readers to do when they confront the piece. It was an amazing class, and it was so cool to be able to take it in London!

Favorite Class: REL 34: Christianity and Conversion in the Northern World: Vikings, Celts, and Anglo-SaxonsMy desire to learn about religion and history was thoroughly fulfilled in this class, where we looked at the various Christian conversions in different European areas. I learned a lot, and I really loved the prof's lectures!
SpringOn-Campus
I'm not taking any classes this term! Instead, I am doing a fellowship through the Leslie Center for Humanities, where I am writing an interconnected short story collection set in an evangelical church youth group.

What to Expect when Expecting COVID-19 Test Results at Dartmouth
When I got to campus, I made sure to isolate and quarantine for the first two weeks, per Dartmouth's COVID-19 policy. I was being smart to keep myself and the community safe.
Remote Researching!
Throughout this summer, I have been able to dive into the world of late 19th-century Georgian politics through research in the History department.
Activism Amidst COVID-19
I recently helped my sister plan an assembly in my hometown in Pennsylvania for a community discussion on race. "A Talk in the Park," as it was called, helped bring awareness to the lack of African American history taught in our schools.
1/4 of the Way Done!
From meeting people from all across the world to working hard in the East Asian Reading Room in Baker Library until after midnight for a paper, I have gained various memories and experiences that have helped define my freshman year at college.
Quarantine Cookbook!
Being back home for the past couple of months has allowed for various activities, and one that's helped keep me and my family sane has been cooking.
A Spark for Reading
Even though I am not in Baker, that Dartmouth spirit of reading and learning is alive and well.
Expanding my Horizons: Learning More about my Identity with Remote Learning
Two classes — "History, Culture, and Society: The Many Faces of Latin America" and "African American Religion and Culture in Jim Crow America" — have helped me learn more about my roots as an Afro-Panamanian man!
How I Stay Focused at Dartmouth!
I get distracted easily, whether by my phone, my friends, or the sudden impulse to re-download Minecraft from the account I got seven years ago (that last one may or may not be what I am doing while writing this blog).
And...I'm back (but remotely)!
And just like that, spring break is over. Time to go back to school, back to clubs, back to college life. Except this time, my dog is now coming along on this college ride.
