Well, I wasn't expecting it, but it was inevitable. After two years of the pandemic, I have finally tested positive for the virus. Some of the symptoms were there; I had chills, cough, muscle aches, and fatigue. And after a rapid test through the College, I was told I had to isolate myself. Currently, I am on day seven of isolation, and that has affected my life in so many ways. First off, my eating schedule. I live in off-campus college housing, living about 8 minutes away from campus. Since I can't use the shuttle in isolation, I can't get my food on campus. Thankfully, Dartmouth dining services have driven to my housing, still providing me meals even while off-campus. The brown paper bag with my food is a nice reassurance while I battle Covid.

However, I think the hardest part has been just not being able to see that many people. I can't see my friends at Novack Cafe in Berry, have lunch in the warm weather on the green with my fraternity brothers, or hang out at the Catholic student center. Even so, I have had many different interactions with my friends that have supported me during this tough time. My friends with cars are willing to drive to pick up supplies that I need, such as toothpaste, as well as walk(while masked) around my housing so I can have human interaction. Sometimes a nice text or a prayer has lifted my spirits, as I wait for my negative covid test.

Staying in isolation with covid is not fun. It is hard, especially when you yearn for being around the people you love. However, the people that I love still make efforts to support me, and I am so very grateful. Hopefully, I can repay it to them when I am out, and am full of antibodies!
