It is hard to believe, but spring term at Dartmouth is about to begin! That means that I am almost done my first-year here, which is crazy to think about. I want to talk about the courses that I am planning on taking next term and why exactly I am taking them!

First-Year Seminar: As a first-year, you are required to take a first-year seminar either in Winter or Spring Term. I am taking Seriality in Pop Culture, where we will learn all about cultural issues through the lens of media such as television and movies. This class will be similar to my Writing 5 in terms of the assignments we have, so I am very excited for what's to come!

Second floor berry (or 2FB), which is where I study a lot!

Spanish 9: Also known as Culture and Conversation, this class serves as a bridge between Spanish 3 and Spanish 20. At Dartmouth, you must take a language course, so Spanish 9 is mine! I was able to get placed into this course due to AP Credit, but there are so many other ways to fulfill this requirement. You can take a completely different language, take a more introductory course for the language you are most familiar with, or even test out of the language requirement if you are fluent in a language! I am super excited to continue my learning of the Spanish language in this class.

Math 30.04: This class is called Evolutionary Game Theory, and this is a part of my QSS major! We will learn concepts in this class that will help us approach real-world problems which I am super excited about. This class is relatively large, but we work in small groups which will make it feel much more tight-knit. I am also taking this class with a few of my friends, so I am definitely most excited for this course!

The Magnuson Center, another place I love to study!

Cognitive Science 2: This class is Cognitive Psychology, and it will be my fourth course this term. I am deciding to take four courses because I am looking to see if I can handle the workload. The nice thing about taking four courses is that you can drop the fourth course pretty late into the term without any issues, so there is not too much pressure! This class studies all things psychology and how the mental processes of our brain. This goes towards my Cognitive Science major, and I cannot wait to dive further into this major!

As you can see, I have a lot on my plate for next term, but I cannot wait to see how all of my courses go!
