Out and About Again!
I am out of quarantine! After eight days in isolation and many covid tests later, I finally got a negative test. When I got the results back, I packed up my backpack and almost ran out of my apartment to be on campus. It felt like it had been weeks since I was on Dartmouth's campus, and it was great to finally be back.
One thing I am back to doing is giving tours through the admissions department. I have been giving a lot of tours this term, since I am not taking classes, and I love being able to talk about Dartmouth to prospective students. It also gives me major nostalgia, since I remember when I was in their high school shoes, touring various colleges and universities. I like that I'm back providing my perspective of Dartmouth, and why I chose this school.
Another thing I appreciate about being out of isolation is seeing my friends again. Now that I am out, I can experience the springtime with my friends, go on late-night walks, or just hang out on the Green(especially since now the Green is actually green!)
I can finally participate with the clubs and organizations I am a part of as well. I am really involved with Greek Intervarsity, which is the Greek life ministry on campus, and our Greek IV social finally happened, where we hung out and ate pizza as a group. Especially since I am not going to be on campus next term, I wanted to spend time this spring building up the club, which included doing multiple events for it. These next couple of weeks are going to have many of them!
When I end my tours, I often talk about why I chose Dartmouth. One of the main reasons is because of the community here. I have made some of my best friends at this campus, and not being able to hang out with them in isolation definitely was hard. However now, I am going to enjoy these friendships for the rest of the term and make sure to be even more thankful for this community. Until next time!
