A beautiful sunset on the green

Although I am a senior, this spring is my first on campus since starting my time at Dartmouth. I was off campus my first-year and sophomore spring due to Covid-19, and studied abroad my junior year. So, I'm beyond excited to catch up on all I've missed and, since graduation is just around the corner, I want to go out with a bang. Week 5 of the term is wrapping up as I write this blog, and so far it's been one of my favorites — here's why.

The Weather

The first couple of weeks of the term were very similar to winter term. There was no more snow, but parkas and boots were still in-season. However, week 2 warmed up out of nowhere, and it felt like summer. The Green was busy with students the entire day — everyone was having picnics, studying in the sun, or just hanging out. I probably did less homework than I should have on those first sunny days, but it was worth it.

Sports

Another highlight of my term has been staying active through intramural basketball. I'm not good at it, but I joined a team with my fraternity and it's been a great time. Other than that, now that the weather is warm I've had the chance to play tennis, toss around the frisbee, and I recently learned to play spike ball. Since it's our last term, most seniors have a lot more free time than usual, so getting together to play some games is a fun way to pass the day.

All My Friends are Here!

The best part of spring so far is that all of the seniors are on campus. Because of the D-Plan, students can choose to not take classes almost any term. There are lots of ways to structure the D-Plan, so you never know who will be on campus each term. Senior spring is mandatory for all seniors, however, so all my friends are here!
