Definition of fun
1: what provides amusement or enjoyment, specifically: playful, often boisterous action or speech
Everyone at Dartmouth majors in fun. Yes, that's how serious we are. Of course, Dartmouth students also put in much effort in the classroom (wink, wink). Since 'fun' is more of a spectrum, your definition of fun may differ from mine; therefore, in this post, I will try to outline how students (not just me) have fun.
1). Mountain Biking: Dartmouth Outing Club
The mountain biking opportunities here in Hanover are unmatched. Few locations offer the range, and potential of rides like Dartmouth does. The DOC's Mountain Biking Club is a fantastic resource for discovering everything there is to know about mountain biking in the Hanover area. Every week, many riders of all skill levels get together. The Mountain Biking Club also arranges day trips and overnight stays to locations including Oak Hill, Boston Lot, Kingdom trails, and more.
2). Amusement Parks: Six Flags New England
Six Flags New England is an amusement park located in Agawam, Massachusetts, a western suburb of Springfield, Massachusetts. One can experience various activities at Six Flags New England, including thrilling rides, a water park, top-notch performances and entertainment, one-of-a-kind shopping, and dining. It has a variety of rides, ranging in intensity from mild to wild. Superman: The Ride is unquestionably my favorite ride in the park and one of its most famous attractions.
3). Art: The Hood Museum of Art
If you are an artsy person, the Hood Museum is the place to be. The Hood Museum of Art is a collection of works of art that includes everything from African art to Native American art. It is situated on campus on Wheelock Street, close to the Hopkins Center for the Performing Arts. The Hood Museum fosters and supports life-changing interactions with important creative and cultural works in order to advance critical thinking and improve people's quality of life. The collections of the Hood Museum span a wide range of cultures and historical eras and are a priceless educational resource for Dartmouth and the Upper Valley regions in New Hampshire and Vermont.
4). 160+ Student Organizations = 160+ different fun activities
At Dartmouth, you will have the chance to connect with a wide range of students, develop your leadership skills, and make a difference on campus and in the community by joining one of the more than 160 student-run organizations available. These organizations vary significantly from one another and are focused on everything from civics, service, and social justice to politics and socioeconomics. Dartmouth offers something for everyone, from the Dartmouth African Student Association to the Rude Mechanicals.
