My latest trip to the Hood Museum was for a business fellowship I'm participating in called the Paganucci Fellows program. Now you may be wondering, what does business have to do with art? More than you would expect!
First year trips is Dartmouth's student-led pre-orientation program that introduces incoming students to the college's amazing community. The DOC offers tons of options to suit anyone's preferences; I did the Museum Exploration Trip.
Although I had frequently passed the Hood during my late night food dashes, I never stepped foot inside until my Humanities floor joined Professor Timothy Baker '08 and Associate Curator Amelia Kahl '01 for a tour.
One thing that I learned to adore about Dartmouth is the fact that we have our own museum.

This week, the French and Italian departments hosted a visit to the Hood Museum at Dartmouth. There, we had the opportunity to discover and learn more about Francophone art.
What is your favorite class this term?
Both because I am working on a big midterm assignment, and I am taking one of the most amazing classes I have ever taken at Dartmouth, my mind can’t seem to wander from “Borderlands Art and Theory” this week.
Their choice of venue was pretty incomparable: Dartmouth's Hood Museum! We dressed up for the event that was impeccably organized with catering, live performances from student groups (such as Street Soul), and a DJ.
I’ve always liked the richness in history and art associated with museums, but it's completely different now that I am taking a class pertaining to studying other cultures.
