A Day in My Life
Although no two days at Dartmouth are the same, I have a few routines that I try to stick to. The first is getting an early start to my day! This term, I have drill on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:45 AM—(Wondering what drill is? I've got you covered!)—which definitely helps with that.
After drill, I walked to Novack Café in Baker-Berry Library for breakfast with my friend, Noah. We worked on our Italian homework together and talked about our plans for the weekend. It's Homecoming, so we definitely want to head out to Brophy Field to watch our friend Katie play rugby against Harvard on Saturday!
Next, I dropped my bag in my room and got ready to go for a walk. I love exploring different parts of Hanover on my walks, but today, I went back to one of my old favorite routes—Occom Pond and Pine Park. It's the beginning of stick season (cue the music), which is one of my favorite times of the year here in Hanover.
The end of my walk put me back at my dorm, where I grabbed a quick snack before heading to the Hood Museum for my Classical Archaeology class (CLST 6). At the museum, my classmates and I studied amazing objects like a Panathenaic amphora and ancient portraiture. I am so grateful for the opportunity to get up close and personal with ancient artifacts!
I was pretty hungry after class, so I met up with my friend Asfand at FoCo (the Class of 1953 Commons, our dining hall) for lunch. Asfand and I met on the Italian department's F.I.R.E study abroad program this summer in Rome, and we've kept in touch since returning to campus. (Here's a look at a day in my life this summer)!
I said "Ciao!" to Asfand and headed to one of my favorite study spots: the Stacks! This silent study space always helps me focus on whatever I need to get done, which is much appreciated during the tail-end of midterm season. I spent a couple of hours there working on my Latin 10: The Landscape of Latin Literature midterm.
Around 4:00 PM, I headed back to my room to get ready for "LODGEOWEEN." This annual event consists of a dinner and spooky festivities at Dartmouth's Moosilauke Ravine Lodge, and this was my second time going! I had a ton of fun catching up with my friends and eating a delicious home-cooked meal at the Lodge.
When I got back from the lodge, I got ready for bed and spent a few minutes reading before drifting off to sleep. Thank you for following along with my day!
