As a member of multiple performance groups on campus, I thought I'd give you a bit of background info on the opportunities here and discuss what we've been up to!
I returned to Hanover a few weeks ago, and it felt like coming home. After almost a year away, I reveled in how novel yet familiar the campus seemed my first few days, especially with a new class of '24s cohabiting it with me.
I don't think any place exemplifies the stereotypical college town like Hanover and our dear old Dartmouth. Of the places at Dartmouth that have the best vibes, my vote — without question — goes to The Hop.
The HOP offers a lot of cool events, including both concerts and movies. This past weekend, Mountainfilm came, and a couple of my friends from the club lacrosse team and I decided to go. With our student IDs were able to get tickets for $5 each.
I learned a lot about myself, my fellow classmates, and not surprisingly, acting.
One thing that I had yet to do on campus was make jewelry at the Donald Claflin Jewelry Studio. Although the rings I made would definitely not be sellable, I learned so much about the process of jewelry-making.
When I finish Sculpture I (SART 16) this term, I will have completed my modified major! So far it has been a great class. Sculpture this term is taught by Professor Soo Sunny Park.
Despite the large breadth of all of the possible activities that I could participate in at Dartmouth, I never pictured that being in a musical would be one of them, let alone one of my favorite experiences.
As a champion of the arts, Dartmouth recently re-opened its very own museum after years of renovation.
