Student-Faculty Presentation: The Dance of Discovery: Finding Purpose, Passion, and My People

Learn how Mirelle Mah'moud '25 and Assistant Professor of Neurology Arti Gaur P'27 are partnering together on meaningful research.
Mirelle is developing a novel treatment for patients suffering from lethal brain tumors called glioblastoma. She is a Senior Thesis candidate in Professor Gaur's lab at the Dartmouth Cancer Center, where she has also been selected as a POWERED and Cancer Scholar. A neuroscience major from Raleigh, North Carolina, she will attend Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine this fall. Arti Gaur is a professor at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine who applies her training as an immunologist to study brain malignancies and neurodegenerative diseases as well as the development of methods to monitor their treatments in real time. Student-Faculty Presentation: Polling, Elections, and Democracy in Polarizing Times

Carson Goh '25 and Jason Barabas '93 have been researching a wide spectrum of topics within American politics. A quantitative social science and government double major from New Hampshire, Carson has been examining public support for Independent Redistricting Commissions. After graduation, he hopes to attend law school and pursue a career in voting rights litigation. Professor Jason Barabas '93 has served as a mentor to Carson in his research. An expert in political knowledge, deliberation, public policy, and democratic performance, he is the director of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences. Colloquially known as "Rocky," the Center is Dartmouth's hub for students, faculty, and staff engaged in policy research and teaching. Register here.

Student-Faculty Presentation: Arts Exploration at Dartmouth

Join Nathaniel Chen '25 and Dr. Brian Messier, Director of Bands and Senior Liaison for Hopkins Center Ensembles, for a discussion about the performing arts at Dartmouth.
 
Nathaniel Chen '25 is an anthropology major with minors in biology and music on the pre-health track. He is the principal oboe in the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble and plays regularly with the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra. 
           
Dr. Brian Messier conducts the Wind Ensemble and Marching Band. He is also a lecturer in music and teaches courses in applied conducting, musical leadership, and entrepreneurship in the arts. He serves as the music department liaison for the Hopkins Center for the Arts, department head for Hopkins Center Ensembles, and admissions liaison for the arts.
