Madison Wuu
Come Join my Dartmouth Adventures
Greetings from wherever you may be in the world! I'm Madison Wuu from Pasadena, California, and I can't wait to share the next four years of my Dartmouth experience with you.
Here are a few things to note about me:
1.) If my life had a theme song, it would be "Adventure of a Lifetime" by Coldplay.
I love meeting new people and experiencing various cultures. Prior to California, I grew up in Gibraltar, Spain and Manila, Philippines from second through ninth grade. Even though I went to high school in the U.S., I still feel like an international student because of my background.
2.) I'm a huge storyteller.
When engrossed in a story, it's easy for me to lose track of time. I often find myself writing or editing videos for hours as a way to unwind. At Dartmouth, I'm planning on double majoring in Film and Media Studies and Sociology with a minor in Human-Centered Design. Given the flexibility of Dartmouth's liberal arts curriculum, I'm eager to explore courses from diverse fields and take you along.

3.) I vlog!
Have you ever thought about starting your own YouTube channel? Well, I totally encourage you to go for it! I recently launched my channel @ madisonwuu, and it's been a ton of fun. So far, I've created videos about my experiences at Dartmouth and some of my random side quests. What I find fascinating about making videos is their ability to reach and resonate with a myriad of audiences. I also appreciate the beauty of capturing authentic moments to look back on later.

4.) One of my top philosophies in life is that personal growth stems from stepping outside of your comfort zone.
You won't know if you'll like something until you try it, so stay open to new experiences—they might pleasantly surprise you! With an open mindset at Dartmouth, I'm excited to keep playing tennis and climbing, but I'm also looking forward to improving my SpikeBall and skiing skills. I can't wait to get involved in new student organizations and perhaps discover what I've been missing out on all these years by listening to country music.

Peoples Places Pines was an invaluable resource when it came to my own college search. Rather than visiting various college websites and conducting endless Google searches, reading about classes, customs, and student life from actual student bloggers felt intimate and refreshing. I hope that future '29s, '30s, '31s, and '32s find my blog posts helpful in gaining a fresh, authentic perspective on all that Dartmouth has to offer. So let the adventures begin!
