Favorite Class: Spanish 1Starting my first year with taking Spanish classes has been one of things I most grateful for here. Dartmouth language programs are designed to give you practical language skills that are essential for second language acquisition. Throughout Spanish one, two and three you will develop a conversational level in Spanish that will qualify you to apply for the study abroad programs in Spain or Argentina!

Favorite Class: Law, Order, and Conquest in Islamic HistoryThe class studies the rise of the first Empires and moves into late antiquity (from 200 to 600 CE) until the rise of Islam. The class is amazing in reviewing history and connecting it to the present—while also studying the interpolitical order of each period of time and the evolution of international law. At the end of the class, each student gets to choose a book that focuses on a specific region of their interest to analyze how it was influenced by conquests.

Favorite Class: Advanced Production (Filmmaking II)The class mimics a real movie set! You will be in a group and everyone can pitch their movie idea. Pitches that get more votes get filmed. Roles get distributed by week one, and by week five post-production roles get assigned. At the end of the class our movies were screened in Loew Auditorium. The class gives you an authentic preview of the Hollywood experience from drafting the idea to screening.
