As a high school senior, I chose to apply to colleges with a strong Chinese language department. Luckily, I have found Dartmouth's campus brimming with students passionate about Chinese culture and language.
Arriving on campus as a sophomore, I felt comfort in knowing I made it back to my second home. It may sound a tiny bit exaggerated, but there's something magical about the campus at 9 p.m. on a Thursday night.
I love food and cultural-oriented food as well, so what's there to eat at Dartmouth?
If the world can be explored through its flavors, Dartmouth promises a voyage of epic proportions.
Now, I am wrapping up my first year at Dartmouth. After reflecting on my experience thus far, I want to offer some advice to prospective and admitted students.
I want to talk about a very important and special project that happened this past weekend. The Carnival: The Caribbean Experience took place at the Shabazz Center for Intellectual Inquiry.
During Week 8, a group of Dartmouth students and I implemented a tendedero (clothesline project) for public dialogue.
From September 15 through October 15, Latinx Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States. As an international student coming from Brazil, I was genuinely excited to experience a month of commemoration to the place and culture I call home.
A kid from Southern California packs his bags and heads east. He arrives at Dartmouth College and begins a new life. I wonder what he will do? It is Fall, the leaves begin to change, what else will change with time?
