Visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston with My Art History Class and Me!
This Sunday, I had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston with my Art History class! Not only was this an educational and enlightening visit, but I got to connect with more of my peers and explore the world outside Dartmouth.
Both my Art History class, Bodies and Buildings, and another class went on this trip. Our professors, Professor Kangas and Professor Cohen, rented a bus and early Sunday morning we all hopped on. The ride to Boston was so convenient and completely free! Most students took this time to talk to friends, nap, or get some work done.
A few hours later the bus pulled up in front of the museum, and we all piled out. We entered the MFA, and, since we are students, we received free admission! Here's the ticket that I saved!
We are near the entrance of the museum in the photo below-how beautiful!
When we first arrived, our professors split us into two different groups to travel around to different exhibits. My group first looked at the Near Eastern and Egyptian section of the museum and then later at the Greek and Roman section. We examined certain pieces of art, analyzing and learning about them through the guidance of our professor.
After visiting both sections of the museum, we broke for lunch. I got lunch with my friend Abby at the Garden Cafeteria!
Then we explored the museum on our own. (I have to admit, I got lost a couple times). I really enjoyed my time wandering!
Then we exited the museum, hopped back on our bus, and drove back to campus! What a fun and educational way to spend my Sunday!
