A man stands with an East Wheelock sign

Oh my gosh—spring term is here, and I'm so excited to be back on campus! One of my favorite Dartmouth traditions is the  –my housing community–termly community dinner, and this term's event reminded me exactly why I love being part of this house.

Housing communities are such a special part of campus life. When you arrive at Dartmouth, you're assigned to one of six houses, each with its own vibe and events. From Wellness Arts & Crafts to trips to Six Flags and New York City, there's always something going on.

A huge meeting room with a round table covered by white tablecloths scattered around. Neon orange balloons are floating in the distance as people are immersed in the food and community!

A plate of delicacies: rice, sweet potatoes, empanada, and curried chicken.

This term's dinner, held in our cozy common room, was amazing. The catered food felt like a world tour on a plate: curried couscous, a sweet potato and chickpea salad, flavorful Lebanese hand pies filled with spiced potatoes, and savory beef empanadas that vanished almost instantly. I loaded up my plate with a little bit of everything!

But the night wasn't just about the food. The East Wheelock merch table was a total hit—I snagged a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants; they were so cozy! Also, there's something about repping your house that makes you feel even more connected to it.

What I love most about Dartmouth's housing communities is the constant feeling of belonging. Whether it's dinners like this, late-night lounge chats, or running into familiar faces on the way to class, East Wheelock has truly become my home away from home.

And as always: We are the best house. No contest.
