An orange and blue sunset

There are many different marble busts sitting atop white pillars in a corner. The left wall of the corner is red and the right wall of the corner is white.

This Sunday, I had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston with my Art History class! Not only was this an educational and enlightening visit, but I got to connect with more of my peers and explore the world outside Dartmouth.

Both my Art History class, Bodies and Buildings, and another class went on this trip. Our professors, Professor Kangas and Professor Cohen, rented a bus and early Sunday morning we all hopped on. The ride to Boston was so convenient and completely free! Most students took this time to talk to friends, nap, or get some work done.

A few hours later the bus pulled up in front of the museum, and we all piled out. We entered the MFA, and, since we are students, we received free admission! Here's the ticket that I saved!

Two halves of the ticket, one green and one white, are pinned up on a purple board
I pinned my ticket to the cork board I hung over my desk in my room!

We are near the entrance of the museum in the photo below-how beautiful!

A vertical photo with the camera tilted up to show a beige-colored arch with designs on it. Columns lead down from the arch to the ground where there are people congregating.
The museum is so expansive and beautiful!

When we first arrived, our professors split us into two different groups to travel around to different exhibits. My group first looked at the Near Eastern and Egyptian section of the museum and then later at the Greek and Roman section. We examined certain pieces of art, analyzing and learning about them through the guidance of our professor.

This picture shows a hallway with red and grey tiles on the floor and some windows on the top. There is a marble bust on top of a white pillar in the center o the hallway.
Here are some of the works we looked at! We were just learning about Roman Emperor Augustus in class the other day, and it was so nice to see this piece of art in person.

After visiting both sections of the museum, we broke for lunch. I got lunch with my friend Abby at the Garden Cafeteria!

A girl is smiling at the camera with a green wall behind her.
Abby at lunch!
There is a green tree on the left while a wall with vines frames the right side. On the bottom are fallen leaves on the grass.
It was a beautiful day outside!

Then we explored the museum on our own. (I have to admit, I got lost a couple times). I really enjoyed my time wandering!

On the left is a red wall with ornate pictures lining the wall.
Here is a room I found that piqued my interest!

Then we exited the museum, hopped back on our bus, and drove back to campus! What a fun and educational way to spend my Sunday!

A balcony with a black railing stands over marble walls and floors.
The MFA is truly a wonder!
