My name is Bryanna and I'm a '23 from Singapore (well, kinda, it's complicated).
In a span of two weeks, I’ve done much more cool things and made friends with much more people than I usually did in a typical term at Dartmouth.
Some of my friends and I decided to spend the day at the Quechee Gorge in Vermont, and it ended up being a great break from finals!
For those of you who do not know what trips are, it is a five-day excursion the Dartmouth Outing Club (DOC) sponsors that includes a laundry list of activities to choose from such as mountain biking (which I chose), hiking, sailing, and much more!
I know this sounds silly, but going into my junior fall, I was the most nervous I have ever been at Dartmouth: I was leading a First Year Trip.
This is the story of how I a) went on Trips, b) went on my first backpacking trip ever, and c) had the time of my life, all in 5 days.
My introduction to Dartmouth began with Trips, a student-led pre-orientation program where incoming freshmen venture out into the New Hampshire outdoors.
