Visit a Brovertones concert during Winterim with me!
Our six week long winter break, Winterim, allows for so many adventures!
I've been hanging out at home, New York City, for the past week. I've really enjoyed relaxing and spending time with my family.
However, today is a day that is different from all the other days of Winterim. Not only am I reuniting with my Dartmouth friends whom I have not seen in forever (two weeks), but I am going exploring in a far away place (Connecticut), and seeing a concert (the Dartmouth Brovertones to be exact)!
Sharika, who also lives in NYC, and I took the train to visit Maytal in Connecticut. The Brovertones concert is happening in a town near her, but not for a while. This means we have time to hangout!

While we ride the train, let me tell you about the Brovertones! The Brovertones are Dartmouth's "premier TTBB , bowtie-wearing a cappella group." During Winterim they went on an East Coast tour. It's so cool that they are performing near me. Moreover, I've been to a Brovertone's concert before! During fall term, my friends and I ventured to a fraternity to see our friend Axel, a fellow first-year, perform for the very first time. They put on hilarious skits and performed beautiful songs! I could really tell how much fun all the "bros" were having.
I find that this culture of authentic and fun clubs is common at Dartmouth. At so many clubs, from DOC outdoors clubs to the photography club to Hillel, joy surrounds everything they do.

After Sharika and I arrived in Connecticut, we explored the beach with Maytal! We even dipped our toes in the ocean. (okay, it was a little chilly out, so I only dipped my hands in). We then sat on the lifeguard chair and watched the sun set (watching the sun set really made me miss my Dartmouth sunsets and sunrises!).
We then met our other friend, Sophia, for a delicious pizza dinner! Sophia lives in Westchester, NY and is a fellow first-year.

We then drove over to the Brovertones concert. They performed at a holiday concert at a church alongside the local high school choir. They sang "Dartmouth Undying"-an iconic Dartmouth Brovertones tradition to sing. I love Dartmouth spirit! They then sang a whimsical version of the "12 Days of Christmas". I said "hi" to Axel after the concert, congratulated him on performing in such a cool concert, and made sure to give him a hug!

It's so nice having friends from college who live close by, making adventures like these possible. Sharika, Maytal, Sophia and I all hung out for a little longer. We then said our goodbyes, sad to be leaving each other but knowing we will reunite in a few short weeks!!
