"Harfest 2024" is written on a piece of paper decorated with brown leaf stamps. Surrounding the paper is a bag of popcorn, a botany book, and a small tree stamp.
A chalkboard sign reads "welcome to HARFEST", with a pumpkin, music note, and carrot drawn below the writing. In the background is a crowd of people.
A view of the book arts station. Paper, ink pads, and leaf-shaped stamps are scattered across the table. A hand holds a stamp left of the image.
Two goats, named French Fry and Granite stand underneath a table. Both goats are wearing green capes with the words "GOAT Greenest Of All Time" printed in white.
A closeup shot of Granite the goat.
An empanada is in the foreground. In the background is a chalkboard reading "share the love, only take 2 empanadas, beef, beans & cheese, butter & shiitake", and three metal trays of empanadas.
A basket of stickers. The Harfest sticker resembles a mail stamp and the sustainability office sticker is a landscape in the shape of the state of New Hampshire.
A box of apple cider donuts. Adjacent from the donut tables was an apple cider station. Besides hot apple cider from Lou's and pre-made cider from a local farm, students also helped press their own cider!
Above is the cider press set up and below are pics of the cider press in action.
Three people work the cider press. The person on the left cranks a wheel which turns the apple grinder. The person in the middle feeds apples into the grinder and the person on the right uses a long stick to press the crushed apples into the basin.

Every autumn, the Dartmouth Sustainability Office hosts Harfest, a celebration of the harvest season. There's free food, live music, and fresh-pressed apple cider. I've been needing a break from studying, so I found my way back to the O-Farm as a Harfest volunteer. Here's a photo gallery of what I got up to!
