I cannot believe that I am saying this, but fall term is already over! Time has simply flown by, and I am now ¼ of the way done with sophomore year. As tradition, I love to talk about my classes for the term, so I will be doing so in this post! Let's get right into it.

COSC 1 (Introduction to Programming and Computation): I took this class as a prerequisite for the Quantitative Social Science major, and it fulfills the Technology (TLA) distributive requirement. This class was an introduction to Python, where we learned various ways to go about coding. I am not going to lie, this course is incredibly challenging: there are 4 exams, 10 short assignments, and 3 longer assignments that can take a few hours to complete. Despite this, Professor Kommimeni, who taught the course, was absolutely incredible. She was very accommodating and made the concepts as clear as possible to us. If you are interested in learning more about Python or coding in general, I would highly recommend taking this class!

COGS 1 (Introduction to Cognitive Science): I took this class as a prerequisite for the Cognitive Science major, and it fulfills the Social Analysis (SOC) distributive requirement. As you can tell from the name, this class taught us all about the field of cognitive science, ranging from philosophy to psychology to linguistics. In terms of difficulty, I found it to be pretty time consuming, but the work I was doing was really interesting. We had a midterm and final, 2 project presentations, and a few quizzes throughout the term. We also had two professors, Professor Frankland and Professor Phillips, who were super enthusiastic about the class and truly made the experience so much better. If you are interested in fields such as the ones mentioned above, I would definitely take this class.

PSYC 6 (Introduction to Neuroscience): I took this class simply because I was interested in the field! It fulfills the Science (SCI) distributive requirement, which is definitely one of the harder distributives for me to get. This class taught us about all things neuroscience, which studies our behaviors and the way we live at a biological level. We had three midterms and a few short assignments throughout the term, so it was definitely not a lot of work until the days leading up to an exam. Professor Finn was extremely good at lecturing us about the topics, and made sure to clear up any confusing parts of the class. This is a very big class (nearly 120 students), so people take this as a pre-med student, for the neuroscience major, or even just for fun!

As you can tell, this term has definitely been pretty challenging, but also so rewarding at the same time!
