Hanover after a day of rain!

Many people are equally intrigued and confused when I tell them that most of Dartmouth's sophomores are on campus for the summer. While it seems like a regular tradition for Dartmouth students, it is an anomaly in most colleges. So, I decided to break down my week into snippets from days so you can hopefully understand what sophomore summer is about!

Monday, August 5th: I woke up super early, went to the gym, and then headed to Collis, one of Dartmouth's dining locations, to get an omelet and smoothie for breakfast. From there, I went to work my on-campus job. All of this lasted until after lunchtime when my friends and I went to the golf course and had a little picnic. After that, I went to my Forensic Psychology class for two hours and then headed to dinner at 53 Commons, the main dining hall, with friends from class. I ended the night by watching Killers of the Flower Moon in BVAC (The Visual Arts Centre) with a few friends!

Tuesday, August 6th: My day started pretty much the same (you'll see this theme emerge throughout this week!) I had my Decolonizing Translation class from 2:30 to 4:15, after which I started editing footage from a movie my friends and I filmed the week before. It was raining on this day, so we, unfortunately, canceled our plans for a picnic on the golf course. I had the closing shift at work, so I hurried back and got that over with. I spent the night finishing some work up in the library.

Wednesday, August 7th: I started my day off the same! I didn't have any classes on Wednesday, so I spent the first half of the day just laying around and getting lunch with my friends. After a grueling double shift at work, I headed to acapella practice. I finished the night with some much-needed Dominos!

Thursday, August 8th: Thursday was my busiest day of the week, by far. I had back-to-back classes, a double-work shift, and some extra work for my friend's student film!

Friday, August 9th: To wrap up this busy week, my friends and I visited a waterfall that was about twenty minutes away from campus! It was fantastic and much needed. After that, I went to an X-hour (an extra hour of class scheduled by your professor), and then I spent the rest of the day just relaxing. It was sunny out (after a few days of rain!), so I enjoyed being on the Green (Dartmouth's main quad) with my friends!

This was a peek into my life during my sophomore summer. It's definitely hectic, but injected with a certain amount of carefreeness thanks to the weather!
