Julia's Jabbers (An Introduction)
Hey y'all! My name is Julia and I am so excited to share my piece of Dartmouth as a blogger. Before anything else, though, I wanted to share a bit more about myself. Starting with fact one: I'm an organizer at heart. So indulge me by letting me break down this introduction into a few different sections.
Fact two: I love my hometown of Seattle, WA. Seattle has everything I love: family (including my sister, Bea, a '24!), friends, mountains, water, my dogs, cold-ish weather, and streets with stop lights. Those last three are already challenges in Hanover. But, my love for the College surpasses my love of stop lights and consistent 40 degree weather. (I do adore my dogs more than Dartmouth, but that's what the Student Wellness Center's therapy dogs are for).

Fact three: I am a bit of a nerd. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to you since I am a Dartmouth student. I love NYTimes Crosswords (my personal statement was about them), Threes (a niche iPhone game), Bananagrams (preferably played with my sister), and This American Life (the hit NPR podcast). Throughout high school, I channeled my nerdiness by taking tough math and science classes, editing my school's yearbook for two years, and learning how to facilitate my peers through a social-emotional learning program. I even created a "Hooked On Crosswords" club with two of my best friends. I'm excited to find new homes for my nerdiness here.
Fact four: I love food. I cannot express to you how much I appreciate a well-made Margherita pizza. Give me a homemade daal and I will be your best friend for life. I also adore cooking. I have been lucky enough to work as a service and back-of-house member in two restaurants. Making family dinners (especially on the grill in the summer!) is my biggest joy in life, period. Although it's a bit more challenging to cook here, I'm excited to find creative uses for my microwave. I've also been trying out as much FoCo (our term for the Class of 1953 Commons!) food as possible.

I cannot wait to take you with me as I learn about all Dartmouth has to offer. I truly fall more in love with this school every day. Talk to you soon!
