Attend a Pre Chanukah Chabad at Dartmouth Party in NYC with me!
Even during Winter Break, I am able to enjoy and interact with Dartmouth connections! On December 19th, I attended a Pre Chanukah Chabad at Dartmouth Party. An alum of '08 hosted this party at his apartment on the Upper East Side in New York City for the Chabad at Dartmouth Community. My friend Maytal (who took the train into NYC from her home in Connecticut) and I attended this party together!
This was such a fun and great opportunity to interact more with the Jewish Dartmouth community. I chatted with alums, Chabad Rabbi Moshe Gray and his wife Chani, and current Dartmouth students.
Rabbi Moshe Gray gave a short speech to everyone present. He emphasized the importance of Jewish pride, Zionism, Chabad, and (of course) Shabbat dinners. He expressed thankfulness for the safety of our Dartmouth campus. Two current Dartmouth students then spoke to the room about their positive memories and experiences at Chabad.

Personally, I have found Chabad a really great place to be at. I am still figuring out where I like to go (Hillel or Chabad) for certain Jewish Holidays, but I remember I had a great Sukkot meal at Chabad! I also love going to Friday night Shabbat dinners where I am surrounded by good food and good friends. The "Bring a Friend" Shabbat Dinner stands out as one of my favorite memories from Chabad. I took a couple of my non Jewish friends to Chabad where we ate home-cooked food (I even made my friends try Gefilte fish!) and my friends learned more about Jewish traditions and customs. It was such an amazing and positive experience for all of us!

Coming from a Jewish Day School, I find that places like Chabad are extremely meaningful to me. I am so grateful that I have a safe and welcoming place to stay connected to my Judaism.
