The top half of the photo is a snowy picture of a brick library with trees behind it. On top of the picture are the words "Student-Alumni Winterim Chat Program." The bottom half of the picture is a white box with black text describing the program.

Dartmouth is known for many things—our deep-rooted traditions, our outdoors spirit, the amazing facility, the welcoming students etc.—but one stands out among the rest: our alumni network. This Winter Break, or "Winterim" for short, I participated in the "Student-Alumni Winterim Chat Program," and it served as my first introduction to the network.

The word "Dartmouth" is bolded in forest green and lies above "Connect," written in a thin black script. Next to the word "connect," there are six green lines that fan out to look like spokes. The background behind the text is white.

At Dartmouth, there are many opportunities to engage with alumni, but one popular avenue is to use our online website, Dartmouth Connect. In collaboration with the Center for Professional Development (CPD), Dartmouth Connect hosts this yearly program for first-year students to match them with alumni in their future career fields.

This winter, I was matched with an alumni from the Class of '71, who is now a retired Associate Justice from a state Supreme Judicial Court; h. He was such a cool speaker and told me all about his journey at Dartmouth and beyond. I loved hearing from him one-on-one, and can't waitiatr to keep in touch in the future. Before coming to Dartmouth, I never thought I'd get these opportunities in college, let alone as a first-year, but I've come to learn that these are normal experiences for Dartmouth students.

Dartmouth alumni love the school, love the town, and most importantly, love the students. They do everything they can to help advise and advance the lives of current students, and I'm so happy to be a new member of this network!
