A Local Pumpkin Patch

With October in full swing, the excitement of Halloween in Hanover is already in the air. Campus transforms during this time of year, as everyone gets into the spirit of the season, and I can't wait to be a part of it. From the spooky decorations around town to the crisp fall air and pumpkin-spiced everything, there's something magical about Halloween here.

One of the best parts of Halloween on campus is seeing the FoCo (our dining hall) workers all dressed up in amazing costumes. They go all out each year, and it's incredible to see their creativity and spirit. It's something I look forward to every Halloween—it just adds that extra bit of festivity to everyday life. Last year, I remember a full pirate crew in FoCo handing out treats, which added a ton of Halloween energy to meal times. Their dedication to the holiday is infectious and really gets everyone on campus excited.

My Greek house also plays a big part in Halloween festivities. Every year, we participate in handing out candy to local trick-or-treaters, which is one of my favorite traditions. Kids from the surrounding community come by in their costumes, and our house transforms into a welcoming spot decked out with spooky decor and candy for all. It's fun to be a part of something that connects us with Hanover and brings so much joy to the younger kids around. Plus, we're always in costume, which makes it even better!

As we get ready for Halloween, I'm excited to see how the whole campus comes together to celebrate—from FoCo's costumes to trick-or-treaters at our door, it's a time when the whole community feels more connected. Halloween at Dartmouth is one of those traditions that brings everyone a little closer, making the fall term feel truly special.
