A typically beautiful evening glow over the Green

I recently reflected on my 24W (winter term) preview, and I had a great time looking back on my expectations versus reality. I hope to do the same this term, using this blog post! I won't be on campus next spring (I'll be abroad in Greece on the Classics FSP), so I really want to make the most out of this term and experience all the Upper Valley has to offer.

Classes

This term, I'll be continuining my foreign language study with Latin 3. I'll also be taking Classics 10.15 (Gender and Sexuality in Ancient Greece). As a Classics major, I can't wait to dive into these courses. I really enjoyed Classics 11 last term, which focused on Greek athletics, and I'm excited to explore another area of Greek culture.

In addition to Latin 3 and Classics 10.15, I'll be taking Anthropology 6 (Introduction to Biological Anthropology). Fun fact: I originally applied to colleges as an anthropology major! I wanted to explore a new department this term and balance my other classes with something more lecture-based, so when my friend Noah mentioned that he would be taking this class, I signed up for it right away.

Extracurriculars

Once again, I'll be continuining my extracurricular involvements from last term. A goal of mine for this term is to try out a new club, at least for a meeting or two!

Two less formal "extracurriculars" that I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time on this coming term are tennis and pickleball. I played tennis in high school and was recently introduced to Dartmouth's pickleball courts by my friend, Nico. These simple and fun sports are a great excuse to spend time outside with friends while also being active!

Outdoors

Speaking of being outdoors, I hope to get back into the swing of going on Dartmouth Outing Club trips during spring term. I didn't hike at all last term, and I really miss it. I plan on going on a few hikes and spending time at Dartmouth's Organic Farm this spring.

I also want to rent a Dartmouth Outing Club cabin with some of my friends, and spend a weekend hanging out and exploring with them! If that plan comes to fruition, I'll be sure to blog about it.

During spring term, I'm sure I'll also spend a lot of time studying outside on the Green, going on Woccoms (walks around Occom Pond with my friend Bea), and riding my bike around campus.

Traditions

As a music lover, I'm super excited for Green Key. To be honest, I don't know much about the tradition yet—but if it's anything like Homecoming and Winter Carnival, I'm sure it will be a blast!
