I finally had the chance to see first-hand just how special Dartmouth traditions are as I walked around the Homecoming bonfire, just as my granddad did 67 years ago.
Going into fall quarter's biggest weekend, I had no idea what to expect, especially because I had been homeschooled throughout high school and never really had the chance to attend school-wide events or even football games.
As I saw alumni come back with their families and reunite with their classes, I felt the sense that I belonged to something bigger. Amidst all my new experiences, Dartmouth gave me something old, too: a breakfast with some very familiar faces.
