It is hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of my sophomore winter! This term has certainly been a rollercoaster for me. Because we are heading towards finals, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the Berry Library for this week's blog. To clarify, the entire library is called Baker-Berry (with Baker being the older side and Berry being the newer side), but I am specifically talking about where I spend most of my time, which is in Berry! Let's dive right into the many levels of Berry.
First-Floor Berry: We like to call this FFB, and this is our loudest floor in Berry. You can talk at any level here while also getting your work done! There are some incredible resources located on this floor as well. There is the Undergraduate Dean's Office, a resource for all students if they need general assistance. Every single student is assigned a dean before coming to Dartmouth, and you can consult them for things such as scheduling questions or prerequisite concerns. There is also the Academic Skills Center, which is a great place to get help with any of your work. They also have many programs in place to ensure that you can get your work done, such as MoTEAvational Monday, where you can drink tea and finish your work! The Student Wellness Center is right next to it, so if you ever need a brain break you can go there to pet a therapy dog, use their massage chairs, or do a puzzle! It is a great resource if you are feeling stressed throughout the term. Those are just some of the many resources located on the first floor, and it is truly a great place for academics!

Second-Floor Berry: Also known as 2FB, this is my favorite place in the entire library! It is a place you can talk, but it is not as loud as the first floor. There are monitors that students can use as well, which has been very helpful for me. The Jones Media Center is also a great place to rent out production equipment for filming or podcasts! I spend most of my time here because it is the perfect mix between productiveness and collaboration.

Third-Floor and Fourth-Floor Berry: We call these two floors 3FB and 4FB respectively, and I am combining them into one because they are very similar. Both are pretty much silent and an excellent place to study if you need to finish your work! I tend to spend time there when I need to get a lot done in very little time.

Novack Cafe: And finally, located a floor down from FFB is one of our many cafes around campus, Novack Cafe. This cafe uses Starbucks coffee, so you can get a wide variety of drinks here. They also have great options for breakfast and lunch that you can quickly pick up and go. There are also a lot of study areas near the cafe, so if you want to sit down and eat while doing work, that is a great option as well.

As you can see, there are many spaces in the Berry side of the library that allow you to get your work done!
