Traveling by Bus:

The Coach departs on schedule—be sure to be waiting at the designated bus stop prior to the departure time listed on your ticket.

From Boston: The Dartmouth Coach bus stop is located at South Station in Boston, Massachusetts. (Your ticket will indicate whether you are departing from Logan Airport or South Station.)

From New York City: The Dartmouth Coach NYC bus stop is located in Midtown Manhattan at 150 East 42nd Street, between Lexington and 3rd Avenue.

Arriving in Hanover: Check-in for the Dartmouth Bound program will take place on the first floor of Bildner Hall, 10 Maynard St, Hanover, NH 03755, a short walk from the bus stop.

Traveling by Air and Bus:

Before Your Flight:

Travel Assistance Phone Number: (603) 646-3360—Program this number into your phone so that you have an easy way to call us if you encounter any problems during your trip. Note: this number does not receive text messages.

Check in for your Flight: Check in on your airline's website within 24 hours of your departure to confirm and see your boarding passes. If you have a smartphone, you can download and check in using the airline's app.

Boarding Passes: If possible, print your boarding passes or plan to use the airline's app. This will save you time at the airport. Additionally, have your Dartmouth Coach tickets easily accessible on your phone for the driver to scan.

Arrive at the Airport: Arrive two hours prior to your scheduled departure. This will ensure you have plenty of time to check in with your airline, go through security, and make it to your departure gate.

Packing for Your Trip: Some airlines charge a fee to check a bag. Either bring a carry-on bag (included with your ticket) or be prepared with cash or a credit card to pay a fee to check a bag. You can check the airline website for their policy regarding baggage sizes and checked bag fees. A fee for a checked bag will not be paid by Dartmouth, so we recommend bringing a carry-on bag instead.

Warm and likely humid weather is predicted in Hanover during Dartmouth Bound. While your residence halls and many of the spaces we'll utilize during the day will be air-conditioned, some spaces will not be. Please bring clothing you'll be comfortable in. We recommend layers and comfortable shoes. We've made some other specific suggestions on our packing list page.

All linens (pillows, sheets, comforters, and towels) will be provided by the College. No need to bring your own.

No need to bring a computer, and we'll have notebooks and pens here for you.

Information Needed to Check In for Your Flight:

Identification: If you are 18-years or older, you will need a government-issued ID, such as a passport, driver's license, non-driver ID card, or a permanent resident card. For specific information on ID requirements, please check the TSA website: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification.

Finding Your Bus at Logan Airport: Dartmouth admissions officers will be at Logan Airport all day and would love to see you when you arrive. Come say "Hi", connect with other participants, and board the Dartmouth Coach together. If, after you arrive you are tight on time, follow the signs to "Ground Transportation" in your terminal to catch the next Dartmouth Coach—once you are settled on the bus, text us at 603-606-9411 to let us know you are on the Coach heading to Hanover. Please review the information about where the Coach stops at each terminal before your trip. If you have any trouble finding the bus stop, or if you wonder what time the next bus will come to your terminal, call 603-646-3360 or text 603-606-9411.

Travel Problems:

Missed or Delayed Flight: If you miss a flight or encounter problems or delays that require you to reschedule your transportation, seek out airline staff members to assist you—they are there to help! Explain to staff that you are traveling alone and don't be afraid to be assertive.

If your arrival to campus will be delayed, please call your family and then call us at (603) 646-3360.
