Coast to Coast
Hello everyone! My name is Maximiliano Beas, and I am a '28 from Oakland, California. I am the son of Mexican immigrants from Jalisco, and I have a younger sister who is a junior in high school.
I am the proud cat dad of my two-year-old cat, Flor. Even though she is named after a flower and is as cute as one, I assure you her demeanor is more like a Venus flytrap.
If you were to ask me the worst part of leaving home, I'd say leaving my family was the hardest… along with leaving behind the amazing food in the Bay Area.
I love the outdoors, and I am excited to join the Dartmouth Outing Club, the oldest and largest collegiate outing club in the nation! I grew up camping and hiking all over California and even had the chance to camp at Yellowstone National Park.
I love sports, and I was on the soccer, volleyball, and swimming teams at my high school. I've been swimming since the age of five and have been a part of the Fremont Gatorsharks, a summer league swim team in East Oakland, since 2013. I hope to join the club swim team at Dartmouth, as well as the club volleyball team.
I'm a computer geek. I saved money for the majority of high school until I had all the components needed to build my own PC. As you may have guessed, I'm also a gamer. The new EAFC25 (FIFA) just came out, and I'm very excited. I spend a LOT of my free time watching gaming and tech videos. Some of my favorite creators are Linus Tech Tips and Marques Brownlee.
I am truly blessed to be here at Dartmouth. I hope you enjoy my blog. Think of me as your friend on the inside!
