Learn a Little Bit About Me
Hello, my name is Lily Rose! I consider myself somewhere between an introvert and an extrovert; sometimes I am a quiet observer, and other times I am the spark that drives a conversation. My hometown is in central New Hampshire, an hour from Dartmouth College. I have grown up in a rural lifestyle where things like gardening, firewood, and hiking are a regular part of my life.
Other than my parents, I have a younger brother who likes to remind me that he is taller than me. My family also adopted an older rottweiler named Zoey; she is a sweetheart and I am missing her as well as my family at college. I have been athletic from a young age and really enjoy mountain biking, running, and skiing. I competed in sports from fourth grade through my senior year of high school.I was fortunate to attend a small private school from first through eighth grade, and this is where I was exposed to the concepts of service, respect, kindness, and responsibility, and I am thankful that those values permeated into me. At that school, I was immersed in discussion-based learning and encouraged to be intellectually curious, so my formative experience is why I am pursuing a liberal arts college education.
In addition to what sparked my academic interest, you may be curious about other relevant aspects of my life. Spirituality is a big part of my life; I attended a unitarian universalist church with my mother for years before developing an interest in a path that my father practices which is related to Sikhism and has been a large part of my life for the last four years. My artistic interests are singing, photography, drawing, and zentangle- look it up! My career goals are within the medical field with the reason being to help people improve their daily lives. However, with that said I am an open-minded person, and I am excited to choose courses that will prove to be the most insightful and rigorous for me.
