Dartmouth focuses on sustainability for heating and cooling buildings on campus.
Director of Sustainability Rosi Kerr ’97 talks about the test drilling underway this week and last at four sites on campus to determine the viability of using geoexchange heating and cooling systems.
The work is part of ongoing improvements in Dartmouth’s energy resiliency, sustainability, and efficiency.
Other work includes energy-efficiency improvements in buildings and the move to a high-efficiency hot-water heating system in place of steam heat, the first phase of which is operational in the West End buildings.
