FASFA Verification Selection Process and How to Respond

Dartmouth has no control over either the selection process or the extent of data required for Federal Verification. You will receive notification that you have been selected for Federal Verification and you will need to read through the documentation requests, gather and complete the required paperwork within a short period of receiving your notification.

Renewal students who are selected will not receive their award until all verification documents have been submitted and reviewed.

Sending Verification Documents to our Office

We strongly recommend that you submit all documents within 14 days of your notification. Make photocopies for your records. Print your name and Dartmouth ID number on each page of the documents you submit.

Confidential information, including personally identifiable information (PII), should not be transmitted via email without encryption. Dartmouth has contracted with the College Board to offer a secure upload for US Citizens and Permanent Residents to submit application information through IDOC. If you are sending sensitive information, we encourage you to either use the IDOC option, mail the documents, or provide the documents via encrypted application (i.e., Winzip) with password protection. The password to open any encrypted documents should be sent via separate email.

Submit all documents via IDOC, email, or mail.
