Alumni Find Spiderman Success With Latest "Creative Dare"

Filmmakers Phil Lord '97 and Chris Miller '97 are continuing their long line of successful projects with their recent hit, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The two first combined their artistic talents and vision at Dartmouth in professor David Ehrlich's animation class, writing and animating movies. This creative classroom experience is still having an impact on how they work today. When discussing their highly-creative take on this familiar comic book character, Miller says, “Like most scientific experiments in a lab, the first 27 times it doesn’t work. And then, finally, everybody working together came upon a method that we all knew worked. So the secret to experimental success is science.”
