'welcome home '22s' overlaid on aerial view of campus

If you're reading this, you are likely either a brand new incoming Dartmouth student or a parent of said student. If you're an incoming freshman, we (me, the bloggers, everyone else on campus) are so pumped to meet you! If you're a parent, congratulations - you raised a very accomplished, interesting child with a lot of potential! I am writing to welcome you to the quirky, challenging, beautiful, unique, wonderful place called Dartmouth College. We're glad you picked us - and hopefully you are glad we picked you back!

When I received my Dartmouth acceptance over two years ago (seems like yesterday!), I was a complete mess of emotions, but the one I can remember the best was an all-consuming excitement for what was ahead. I wanted to know everything there was to know about what life was like here, right away. I wanted to pick my dorm (and figure out what residential communities even are), start meeting new friends, choose classes, go on Trips, and join a sports team or a million different clubs. Obviously, I was chomping at the bit to start living the "Dartmouth experience," and I'm sure a lot of you are feeling the same. I hate to break it to you, but it's going to take some time before you get to do most of those things - and that's okay. Keep an eye out for more blog posts from us to help pass the time, but enjoy the last of senior year while you can; we will still be here when you graduate!

Dartmouth has so much to offer you - I could go on for days about all of the opportunities that are here for you to take advantage of - but I'm most excited that you get to find out for yourself! Welcome home, 22's! We couldn't be happier to have you!
