Dartmouth's location is perfect for students looking for an adventure! Nestled in the woods of New Hampshire and seated directly on the Appalachian Trail, opportunities for outdoor adventures in our very own backyard are endless.

Dartmouth is also perfectly located for day trips along the East Coast. I took advantage of this fact last term when I went to not one, but two concerts in the same weekend!

For the first concert of the weekend, I saw Lorde in Boston! My friend and I bought tickets for this concert back in the spring, so I was so excited when the day finally came.

The concert started at 7pm that Friday night, but we wanted to get into the city at a decent time to eat dinner and shop a little bit beforehand, so we left in the early afternoon. We attended our morning classes and then boarded the Dartmouth Coach to Boston's South Station.

The coach is a great resource for Dartmouth students and the whole Upper Valley community. The bus stops right on campus and goes directly to Boston or New York at an affordable cost to students. It's an easy transportation option for getting home or for going on day trips into the city.

Around 4pm, we made it to Boston. We wanted to get to TD Garden, the venue, at around 6pm so we would have enough time to find our seats and buy merch, which gave us 2 hours to walk around Boston. We bought some trinkets and ate dinner and I even got my fortune read!

We eventually entered the venue and got ready for the openers to go on. Blood Orange was one of the openers, who is my sister's favorite artist, so I made sure to get her a concert shirt.

The concert was amazing! We had so much fun singing and dancing along with Lorde! After the concert, we walked back to South Station to catch a train into Rhode Island where my friend lives. We slept over at her house and spent the next day with her family doing all the must-do New England fall activities.

We went apple picking and each found a pumpkin to bring back to campus to paint after class one day. We also went to a fantastic vegan deli and ice cream store that my friend is always raving about. It was so good!

After lunch, her parents kindly drove us back to campus. On the way back, some friends of mine texted me about a Backseat Lovers concert the next day at the University of New Hampshire. At first, I decided against going, but once I got back to campus and finished up my homework for the weekend, I decided to go!

My friend has a car on campus, so the next day she drove me and our two other friends to Durham, New Hampshire. Once at the university, we parked and met up with some friends that went in a separate car.

The concert was set up outside in a fenced-in parking lot, so we waited in line to enter. After they scanned our tickets, we took a look around the concert grounds. At the far end was the stage, where the openers were already playing. Closer to the entrance, a sustainable flea market was set up, along with some food trucks. We all split up and started exploring everything.

I browsed the racks of used clothing and bought some baked goods from a local vendor. There was a great selection of food from the food trucks, so it took time for us to decide what to get, but I ended up buying veggie dumplings.

Finally, Backseat Lovers went on. The concert was so good! I don't know as many songs from Backseat Lovers as I do Lorde, but it was still so fun listening to music with my friends!

We drove back to campus that same night and I told my roommates all about my weekend adventures before going to bed. My weekend away from campus was so amazing and I'm so grateful for Dartmouth's location in New England that makes it easy to have fun experiences like this.
