Hey everyone! I'm Cooper from Wayne, Pennsylvania, which is right outside of Philadelphia. I am a '28 here at Dartmouth, and plan on studying Quantitative Social Science and Cognitive Science. In my free time, I love getting food with friends, playing pickleball, watching sitcoms (personal favorite is Modern Family), and going on walks. I am super excited to be here and cannot wait to take you along my journey at Dartmouth!
I took this class with Professor Binkoski, and I absolutely loved it! We explored numerous theories regarding time travel and the existence of time, and it just completely blew my mind. Professor Binkoski is such an engaging lecturer and explains everything so thoroughly, which makes the class so incredible! After taking this class, I have become more interested in philosophy and cannot wait to take more classes in this department.
I took this class with Professor Horiuchi and learned more than I could have possibly imagined! This course is incredibly challenging and has a good amount of work, but I learned so much about the programing language R as well as how to wrangle and visualize data. By taking this class, I have confirmed that I want to major in QSS because of how interesting the material was. If you want to enhance your skills in R, this is the class to take!
In order to fulfill my language requirement, I took Spanish 9 with Professor Rieumont. This class was simply incredible. Not only was the content interesting and engaging, but my actual class itself (both the professor and fellow students) made this class so memorable. We learned so much about Spanish-speaking cultures all while having so much fun doing it, and I am so grateful that I took this class with such an amazing group!

I was home for the summer! I was able to catch up with family and friends, work at a local ice-cream shop, and relax for a few months. It was amazing to be back in my hometown!!
I took this class with Professor Emily Finn, and I absolutely adored it! Because it is an introductory class, you learn about various topics within the neuroscience field, but mainly at the surface level. It was incredibly interesting, and it is a perfect introduction to the major overall!
Welcome back to my blog! As I start my winter term, I want to write and reflect about my Winterim this year. If you are not familiar with what Winterim is here at Dartmouth, it is a 6-week winter break starting a few days before Thanksgiving and ending a few days after the New Year. In my opinion, it is one of the best parts about Dartmouth's curriculum, as you do not need to feel stressed over Thanksgiving break for any finals because we complete them before the break! With 6 weeks of time to relax, catch up with friends, and travel, my Winterim was full of so many amazing memories. Let me go over some of the highlights of my break!
For one, I was able to continue to work at my local ice cream and coffee shop to make some money. Although the store is not as busy in the winter, it was really nice to spend a lot of time in the town of Wayne, and it really reminds me of the town of Hanover! I certainly missed the food from home, so being able to eat at the various restaurants in and around the town was one of the best parts about being home for so long!

In terms of vacations, I went to Florida for a week. My family and I went to the new Epic Universe, which was so cool! Beyond that, we were able to just relax and spend some quality family time in the warmth of Florida. Because of the 6-week break Dartmouth gives us, planning vacations is much easier. Many of my friends from Dartmouth traveled across the world, including Bangladesh and New Zealand!

And of course, my favorite part by far about Winterim was having an abundance of time to catch up with my friends from home. Hearing all about their semesters and classes is always something I look forward to, and it was so great to see them after being away for nearly three months. I did many Friendsgivings, Secret Santas, and casual hang outs, and it was just so much fun to be with them for so long! That is one of my favorite parts about our break because I have so much time to be with the people that I love.
Now that Winterim is over and winter term has begun, I cannot wait to tell you all about my term. See you soon!
