An Exploration into The Irving Institute
Add a Reaction
Welcome back! Today, we are going to explore the absolutely beautiful Irving Institute, which is located on the West End of campus. It is attached to the Tuck Business School and the Thayer School of Engineering, so we love to say that these two disciplines come together in the Irving Institute to solve the issues of sustainability and climate change.
The Institute is an interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to accelerating an affordable, reliable, and equitable global transition to clean energy. It integrates topics such as engineering, business, climate science, and public policy to prepare the next generation of climate leaders through academic offerings, such as the Master of Energy Transition program. It actively connects students, faculty, and industry experts to advance research, secure funding, and transforms complex global climate challenges into real-world solutions for a sustainable future.

Beyond the beauty of the building, there are tons of amenities located in Irving. For one, there is The Fern cafe (my personal favorite dining spot on campus), which brings in baked goods from King Arthur Flour. They have a great range of options, including parfaits, chicken caesar wraps, and breakfast sandwiches. Irving also has tons of study spaces on every floor, and a full kitchen for people that work in the building to utilize. I serve as a building ambassador where I work at the front desk, so I am able to access all of the incredible amenities present in the building.
As you can see, the Irving Institute is one of the most beautiful buildings on campus, and a great resource for so many students to study and delve into their passions surrounding sustainability!
