Welcome back! I hope you have been enjoying this series so far. For this week's course, I will be discussing Phil 1.08, also known as the Philosophy of Time and Time Travel. This class can count towards a philosophy major/minor, as well as a prerequisite to higher level philosophy classes. This is really useful for me because as a cognitive science major, I need to take one of these higher level courses, so this class was perfect for me! This class fulfills the TMV (Thought, Meaning, and Value) distributive requirement, which I believe is one of the more difficult distributions to get!

I took this class with Professor Binkoski, a Senior Lecturer at Dartmouth. This class was medium-sized, with approximately 30 people in it. With regards to the actual class structure, it consisted mainly of lectures regarding all things time travel, as well as a good chunk of class open to questions about the content (believe me, you will have endless questions in this class!). Professor Binkoski is truly an incredible lecturer, and made this class so interesting and fun because of the ways in which he talked about these topics. He utilized the whiteboard extensively to write down the many theories we discussed, which made it much easier to understand. Although the topics could be challenging to grasp, he hosts many office hours to ask further questions which was super helpful!

In terms of assignments in this class, we have daily reading questions, 4 short essays about various topics regarding time travel, and a final project that was very open-ended. For my project, I made an informational video about how Avengers: Endgame gets time travel wrong. The fact that this project is so open ended is truly incredible and allowed me to have a lot of fun for my final! Overall, this class is one of the best I have taken here at Dartmouth so far. It is incredibly interesting and touches on a topic you normally do not see in a college course.

That's it for now, I will talk to you soon!
