Q:

What is the typical acceptance rate? What is the required class average? What is the required SAT and ACT scores you look for?

A: young woman in nametag

Hello! I feel this where I can step in for our wonderful bloggers. My name is Angie Estevez Prada and I’m an admissions officer here at Dartmouth. I’m best known for once coming in 2nd place at a King Arthur Flour Baking competition with fellow AO Jade.

To answer your question, Dartmouth is a highly selective university so we have a high volume of applications each year. Last year we had an acceptance rate of 10.4%. We read every application and we love hearing from students all over the country and the world! Therefore, we are aware that every student that is applying to our school comes from a variety of backgrounds and educational opportunities. This means we want to take into account the context of the applications. Since we are looking at things from a holistic nature, we do not have a required SAT or ACT score nor do we require a specific class average or GPA. My advice is to push yourself within the context of your school and that we want you to do well in your studies. This lets us know that when you get to Dartmouth, you’ll be ready to tackle our curriculum and make some incredible things happen here!
