Special Visit Days
Thinking about choosing Dartmouth? Even a brief visit to campus can help you make up your mind. Why not register for an Admissions information day or swing by for a chat over coffee with a Dartmouth student?
Prospective Student Visits
Each term, our Admissions team organizes a number of planned days and special events for prospective students and their families. We offer student-led tours of the campus, Admissions information sessions, student forums, and plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions about learning and living here at Dartmouth. Prospective students are invited to sit in on a class during fall and winter term visits. Due to the high number of campus visitors in the spring and summer, we are not able to offer classroom visits during spring and summer terms.
Apart from our seasonal full-day programs, we can often arrange for you to chat directly with a Dartmouth student or hear from a faculty member at one of our information sessions. Details about special days, informal chats, and planned events are available below and will be updated with more information closer to the date they take place. Please note: space is limited and registration is first come, first served.
Regular Summer Visit Days (Monday to Saturday)
Summer is a popular time to see Dartmouth in action. Thanks to our four-term, flexible study system—The D-Plan—our robust campus is alive with students in residence taking classes from mid June to late August. Sign up now for an information session and/or a campus tour.
* Please note: Dartmouth will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2015 to observe Labor Day. We will not offer tours or info sessions on this day. *
During summer visits you can:
- Learn about the distinctive aspects of a Dartmouth education at one of our information sessions.
- Take a tour and connect with students on the Green.
- On select Fridays, join us for special programming with our faculty and a complimentary BBQ lunch (weather permitting).
Faculty Friday Summer Session
The day typically starts with an information session hosted by a professor and an admissions officer. Visitors are then invited to join a student-led campus tour followed by a complimentary BBQ lunch (weather permitting). Following lunch, there are generally various options to choose from: A visit to the Thayer School of Engineering for an information session and tour; A tour of Dartmouth’s Life Sciences Center; An information session about our Pre-Health advising program; An overview of Dartmouth’s D Plan and opportunities abroad; A student-led session on residential life; Admissions and Financial Aid Q&A.
